Flow Sites of Phase 5 CBP Model
High-Resolution Image

The black areas delineate the 8 major river drainage basins - the East-Shore-MD, East-Shore-VA, Patuxent, Potomac, Rappahannock, Susquehanna, West-Shore-MD, and York basins. The major rivers and their tributaries within each basin are shown in green. Finally, the red dots lying on the rivers and tributaries are 304 flow measurement calibration sites that are being used for the phase 5 model of the Chesapeake Watershed. This map was contructed using the free GIS program "Arc Explorer Java for Education" available from ESRI.com, using a roadmap from the ESRI-provided file "2_us_gn.axl" and overlaying the roadmap with 3 shapefiles that define the basins, river network, and flowsites of the watershed. These shapefiles were constructed by the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) for the phase 5 watershed model.
