Reel and Meal March Films to Feature Permaculture and Food Security Topics
March 15, 2010
On Monday evening March 15, The Reel and Meal (R&M) at the New Deal Café (in Roosevelt Center, 113 Centerway Greenbelt MD)will show a sampler of short selections from four Permaculture and food security films. Selections include: GRAVE DANGER FROM FALLING FOOD; FOREST GARDENS; SUBURBAN PERMACULTURE; and CREATING A SUBURBAN FOOD SHED. This event is one in a series of monthly films and discussions that explores vital environmental and social justice issues. Chef Karim will prepare a vegan meal for $13.00 at 6:30 pm. CHEARS Three Sisters Project to Sponsor Fourth Sunday Food and Fun Raising Events
March 4, 2010
The Greenbelt Three Sisters Diversity-Circle Demonstration Gardens is planning to sponsor a series of 4th Sunday events from 12:30PM-3:30PM. The FUN AND FOOD RAISING events will begin with a Potluck shared simple lunch and include a facilitated co-learning discussion and then a hands on garden project. The Sundays will rotate between the three sister sites for the gardens with the following schedule.
March 28—Greenbelt Community Center-Square Foot Gardening:
April 25—Springhill Lake Recreation Center--Bio-intensive Gardening:
May 23—Schrom Hills Park-Eco-Circles.
